TREATMENT FOR CHILDREN
A candidate for treatment may demonstrate reduced:
Speech conditions for children include (and are not limited to):
- clarity of speech (cannot understand their words)
- fluency (stuttering)
- vocabulary
- ability to maintain a conversation
- ability to engage with peers and participate in back and forth play
- ability to appropriately answer and/or ask questions
- ability to imitate words or imitate actions
- ability to follow directions without gestures (especially outside of a routine)
- ability to answer questions about a past experience or about a story (read to them or independently read)
Speech conditions for children include (and are not limited to):
- Receptive and/or Expressive Language Delays or Disorders
- Motor-Speech Disorders/Childhood Apraxia of Speech

TREATMENT FOR ADULTS
A candidate for treatment may demonstrate the following after a stroke, illness, or traumatic brain injury:
Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) support through either high-tech devices (e.g., NovaChat, Tobii Eye Gaze) or low-tech methods (e.g., Picture Exchange Communication) is also available.
Studies have confirmed that Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) does not suppress verbal language, instead can enhance an individual's verbal productions.
- reduced ability to understand language
- reduced ability to express themselves
- reduced ability to initiate (tasks or language)
- lapses in memory
- reduced ability to independently write or read
- feeding and swallowing issues

Step 2: We can set up a time for an initial intake to discuss your concerns and set up an evaluate, if required. The first 30 minute phone consultation is free. (If the family can provide a copy of a a recent speech and language evaluation, another evaluation may not be necessary).
Step 3: Weekly treatment sessions begin (usually 1-2 visits per week, 30-60 minute sessions). Time is allotted within each visit to discuss progress and home program notes.
